Dr. Pontillo is a Psychologist based in New York City and Northern New Jersey, where she works with adult clients navigating a wide range of challenges and life transitions. She draws on a diverse therapeutic toolkit, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, to help clients gain valuable insight, manage symptoms, and make meaningful changes for improved wellbeing. Additionally, Dr. Pontillo integrates her expertise as a certified yoga and meditation teacher, incorporating mindfulness techniques to enhance treatment and foster greater emotional resilience.

Dr. Pontillo's style is warm and collaborative. She provides her clients with a safe space for self exploration and guides them in implementing shifts in thoughts and behaviors to allow them to move closer towards their goals. Dr. Pontillo believes the key to effective psychotherapy is a good fit between therapist and client, and works diligently to meet clients where they are at while utilizing the most up to date evidence based treatments to address client needs for effecitve outcomes.

Training
Dr. Pontillo earned her doctoral degree in Clinical and School Psychology, as well as master’s degrees in both Psychology and Educational Psychology, respectively. She has a rich clinical background, having completed a practicum in the outpatient psychiatric department at Mount Sinai West in Manhattan, followed by an internship and a post-doctoral fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. With specialized training in ACT, CBT, EFT, DBT, and psychodynamic psychotherapy, Dr. Pontillo is equipped to provide comprehensive, personalized care for her clients.
